Heat zones of the earth are the three significantly different temperature zones of the earth. These were first categorized by Greek Scholar Aristotle. Although some of Aristotles hypothesis about heat zones have been proved incorrect.

The three heat zones are: i. Torrid Zone- The mid-day sun is exactly overhead at least once a year on all latitudes in between the Tropic of Cancer and Tropic of Capricorn.These areas, therefore, receive maximum heat and are called the Torrid Zone. ii. Temperate Zone- The mid-day sun never shines overhead on any latitude beyond the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn.

The following are the different heat zones in the earth: 1. Torrid zone, 2. Temperate Zone, 3. Frigid Zone. 1. Torrid zone: This area lies between the Tropic of Cancer and Tropic of Capricorn. This region gets vertical rays of the sun throughout the year, which made this zone as the most heat taking zone on the earth.
